Living with Rivers unfolds in the form of a biennial, that honors several rivers at each of its editions. The Rhône river launches the dynamics, and welcomes two rivers from other continents. This global conversation gives understanding and feeling by telling the epic of the rivers. Giving a voice to rivers and crossing the views of scientists and professionals with those of artists and populations living close to rivers: that is the aim of Living with Rivers, an international action launched by Initiatives for the Future of Great Rivers (IFGR) that federates a very large number of partners. By understanding our many links with rivers, we want everyone to participate in their preservation for a sustainable future shared by all.
For this first edition, the River Rhone invites the Rivers Saint Lawrence and Senegal to begin a dialogue. And from the banks of these three rivers, everyone can recount what their river means to them.
Three rivers,
three imaginaries...
but a common message.
